Hundreds of students and staff from across The Sandwell Colleges came together yesterday to take part in One World 2025 — an unforgettable celebration of the diversity, creativity, and cultural pride that define our college community.
Now in its 14th year, One World has grown into a flagship event in the college calendar, bringing global cultures to life through music, dance, food, fashion, and performance. This year’s festival was opened by Principal & CEO Lisa Capper MBE, who praised the energy and inclusivity of the event.
The main stage was a dazzling showcase of talent, with powerful performances from African and Dhol drummers, Bhangra and belly dancers, rappers, singers, and spoken word artists — each act celebrating identity and togetherness. The atmosphere was electric, with students and staff alike embracing the spirit of unity and cultural pride.
A highlight of the day was the vibrant diversity catwalk, where students proudly represented cultures from around the world. We were honoured to welcome VIP guest Sonia Smalling, who joined the catwalk in celebration of inclusivity and self-expression.
One World 2025 was a powerful reminder that our strength lies in our diversity — and that when we come together as one community, we create something truly special.
