This T Level is designed for learners aged 16–19 who are interested in a future career within the legal sector, particularly in areas such as business law, finance, and employment law. It is ideal for students who enjoy problem-solving, critical thinking, and working with rules and procedures. Typical applicants include school leavers who are considering careers as legal assistants, paralegals, HR professionals, or those with an interest in progressing to law-related apprenticeships or higher education in legal studies.
Course Structure:
- 80% Classroom Learning – Students will study a wide range of core topics related to the legal sector, including the legal system, professional responsibilities, commercial and employment law, and the fundamentals of legal documentation.
- 20% Industry Placement – A minimum of 45 days spent with an employer in the legal or business services sector, giving students valuable first-hand experience in a professional environment.
Over the course of the two-year programme, students will develop both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for legal and administrative roles. The occupational specialism we deliver is Business, Finance and Employment, providing learners with a strong foundation in legal procedures and practices within a business context. The course will also focus on professional behaviours, ethics, and communication — all essential for success in legal support roles and further legal training.

Core Skills, Workplace Practices & Occupational Specialism
As part of the T Level Legal qualification, your occupational specialism will focus on Business, Finance and Employment Law. You’ll develop technical skills and workplace behaviours that align with professional legal roles.
