The NCFE Level 3 Travel and Tourism course is a vocational qualification designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for careers in the travel and tourism industry. It’s often used as a stepping stone to further education or entry into various roles within the sector. The course covers a broad range of topics, including the UK travel and tourism industry, customer service, preparing for a career, travel destinations, and visitor attractions.

Modules:

Year 1:

Unit 01 The UK travel and tourism industry

Unit 02 Customer service in travel and tourism

Unit 03 Preparing for a career in travel and tourism

Year 2

Unit 14 Investigating airline cabin crew

Unit 16 Worldwide passenger airlines

Unit 20 Specialist tourism

To study a BTEC level 3 course, students are required to achieve a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including Maths & English.

Students on this course experience various trips such as Disneyland Paris and Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Examination 

NCFE Level 3 Travel and Tourism courses are assessed through a combination of internal and external quality assurance methods, including portfolios of evidence, and may also include externally set and marked assessments.

  • Direct Employment:

Many graduates of the Level 3 Certificate find employment in the travel and tourism industry, such as travel agents, cabin crew, or working in tourism-related roles.

  • Higher Education:

The qualification can also serve as a stepping stone to further studies, particularly in areas like International Tourism and Event Management.

  • Industry Specific Roles:

Some Level 3 Certificates may focus on specific areas like aviation, providing specialized skills and knowledge for roles in airlines, airports, and related fields.
