This creative and hands-on course offers an exciting pathway into key areas of textile design, including silk-screen printing, fabric dyeing, batik, embroidery, weaving, and fabric manipulation.
You’ll explore textiles in imaginative ways, producing original work across fashion, interior design, exhibition pieces, and textile art. Each project encourages you to develop your own ideas in response to a brief, with inspiration drawn from both contemporary and historical textile practices.
The course supports progression to university-level art and design courses or careers in the creative industries, such as fashion, costume, interiors, or surface design.

- Colour studies and designing for Textiles
- Sketchbook work.
- Techniques and processes ; Dyeing, silkscreen printing, batiking, painting, tie-dye fabric
- Woven and constructed fabrics/ felt making
- Manipulated/ embroidered fabrics
- Contemporary and historical investigation of Textile Artists/Designers/ Artists
- Design development of ideas, sketches, fashion illustration.
- Analysis/annotating creative thinking and processes
- Producing final Textile Design work
