Award‑Winning Solicitors Empower Cadbury Learners To Build Their Future In Law

National Careers Week brought two remarkable voices from the legal profession to our students at Cadbury Sixth Form College.

Award‑winning solicitors Becca Horley and Zoya Alam inspired our learners with their powerful stories of building a strong personal brand and how to get started on LinkedIn.

Their career journeys showed that there’s no single route into Law, just determination, passion and the right support.

Becca, now a Specialist Medical Negligence Solicitor with Fletchers Group, spoke about being one of the first in her family to attend university and how that journey led to her becoming both Birmingham Law Society Solicitor of the Year 2025 and Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year.

Trainee Solicitor Zoya shared how the Degree Apprenticeship route led her to Squire Patton Boggs, and to being named Greater Birmingham Apprentice of the Year 2025.

Becca said: “From meeting students I can see that we have so much talent in this region and I’m excited to see where their careers take them. I’m so pleased the talks made an impact. I know how much it would have meant to me at 16.”

Zoya said: “It was wonderful meeting so many enthusiastic students considering a future in law, including those exploring apprenticeships alongside the traditional route. I hope our session helped make securing their dream career, whichever path they choose, feel more approachable and attainable.”
