Cadbury Sixth Form College was delighted to welcome back alumni Diazan Yafai, who is now flourishing in his role as a Senior Financial Management Assistant at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
Diazan shared his career journey with current students, offering insight into how he successfully secured a permanent role just six months into his apprenticeship. He now plays a crucial part in managing a £110 million budget, supporting oncology and radiotherapy teams in understanding the financial impact of their work on patient care.
Reflecting on his time at Cadbury, Diazan said:
“At Cadbury I was able to develop in many areas such as communication with fellow students, keen analytical skills and responsibility. This has been carried forward into my day-to-day role where I enjoy having a direct impact on patient care. This apprenticeship has given me exposure to a professional environment and I am proud of the difference I’m able to make.”
Diazan’s visit served as a powerful source of inspiration, demonstrating the real-world success that can follow from strong foundations built at Cadbury Sixth Form College.
