Politics students from Cadbury Sixth Form College enjoyed an inspiring and insightful visit to the Houses of Parliament, giving them the opportunity to experience first-hand the heart of decision-making in the UK.
The trip provided learners with a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at one of the country’s most iconic institutions, plus the chance to take part in an engaging Q&A session with Labour Peer, Baroness Hyde of Bemerton.
As part of the visit, students also took part in an interactive workshop where they were challenged to develop and pitch their own policy proposals for Government.
From exploring the historic chambers of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords to learning more about the legislative process, students were able to deepen their understanding of the political system they study in the classroom.
Experiences like these play a vital role in bringing learning to life, helping students connect theory with real-world practice while broadening their understanding of democracy, governance and active citizenship.
