Psychologists Ignite Curiosity at College Conference

Cadbury Sixth Form College students benefited from professionals’ clinical experiences at an insightful Psychology Conference.

Fascinating speakers sharing their specialist knowledge at the conference included Professor in Criminology at the University of Staffordshire, James Treadwell, who spoke on the Psychology of Political Riots, and Psychotherapist and Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Birmingham Newman University, Stephanie Carr, who delved into Pathways into Psychotherapy.

Our own award-winning alumna, neuroscientist Zaynab Sohawon took learners on her personal journey from Cadbury student to Charity CEO.

Lecturers Josh Haywood and Aneesa Kiani helped students prepare questions for engaging discussions, supported by Aston University careers team.

College update

Cadbury Sixth Form College remains open.

With higher temperatures expected over the next few days, we are reminding all students to come prepared for hot weather so they can stay comfortable and focused while learning:

  • Stay hydrated throughout the day and make regular use of the college water fountains
  • Wear light, breathable clothing suitable for warm conditions
  • Bring a hand‑held fan or other small cooling aid
  • Refill water bottles frequently and avoid excessive time in direct sun during breaks
