Politics In Action At Cadbury

Cadbury Sixth Form College’s A Level Politics students were excited to welcome Jess Phillips MP to their class debate.

The Member of Parliament for Birmingham Yardley, and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls, talked about her decision-making role and how politics directly affects our everyday lives and impacts everything, including key areas such as university funding and public services.

Cadbury learners challenged Jess with thoughtful questions about government and the realities of political leadership, developing their classroom learning into real-world skills of critical thinking, communication, confidence, and the ability to engage in informed debate.

Earlier this year Jess gave a powerful and inspiring address at the uplifting Cadbury Awards Celebration, encouraging students to continue striving for positive change and to believe in their ability to make a difference in the world, as we celebrated learner success and the remarkable achievements of our students.
