The BTEC Business Level 3 course is ideal for students who are interested in developing a strong foundation in business practices and preparing for a career in a wide range of industries or further study. It suits motivated individuals who enjoy practical learning, want to build real-world skills in management, marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship, and are keen to progress into university, apprenticeships, or the world of work.

This course is equivalent to one A Level and designed for students aged 16+ who want an introduction to business concepts and practices. It offers a balance of theoretical learning and practical, real-world application.

Modules:

Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance (Externally assessed – exam):

    • Covers personal finance topics: managing money, budgeting, financial products.
    • Business finance topics: costs, revenues, profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, cash flow.
    • Interpretation of financial documents and business decision-making based on financial information.
  • Unit 8 Recruitment and Selection Process:
    • Understand how businesses recruit employees.
    • Participate in recruitment and selection activities (e.g., mock interviews, CV writing).

To study a BTEC level 3 course, students are required to achieve a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including Maths & English.

This course is assessed by a mixture of coursework and examinations.

BTEC Level 3 Business is widely accepted by universities. Some examples of degrees you could progress to include:
