This two-year BTEC Level 3 course is designed for school leavers who are passionate about sport and keen to develop a career in coaching, sports development, or the wider sports industry. The course provides a strong foundation of theoretical knowledge alongside hands-on experience, with a clear emphasis on coaching as the core focus throughout both years.
In Year 1, students will begin by exploring the wide range of careers available in the sports industry and the importance of health and wellbeing. The cornerstone of the year is Unit C1: Developing Coaching Skills, where learners gain essential coaching experience through planning, delivering, and reviewing sessions. Additional units introduce students to the principles of sports development, self-employment, and the practical application of sport.
